We've been going around town, enjoying what Utah has to offer, but I've completely failed to put any of it down in that new Utah blog I was so excited about. Hmmm...maybe I don't really love Utah? Hopefully I'll get back into it soon, because there's a lot I want to share, like this fantastic little Greek restaurant up by the U.

A year ago, Kyle and I went out to San Francisco for the first time together when we went out to California for our reception. My Uncle Frank took us to this amazing restaurant on Clemente St. for dim sum and it was completely packed but very delicious. Kyle and I sought it out on this last S.F. trip, only to end up being the only two people eating at this restaurant. Imagine a giant mirrored ballroom with two little people sitting at a little table over by the window because our presence didn't even warrant turning on the lights. Awesome.

We went out to Wendover, Nevada, for a night a couple of weeks ago so that we could gamble a little and then freak out about losing TWENTY WHOLE DOLLARS! I guess we're not Nevada people, which was proven when I walked into our hotel room and went, "Weird...the whole wall is just one giant mirror...why would you ever need such a big mirror in a hotel room?...oh wait...wait, I get it...wow, I bet they go through so much Windex here..."

As part of my 101 in 1001 project, I needed to try a fruit that I had never had before. As you can see, I picked a Kiwano Melon. I thought they were pretty, but unfortunately they taste like a cross between bad cucumbers and underripe bananas. The insides are also the consistency of snot. I don't recommend it...

I've been working on wearing cosmetics more often and these three products are my lifesavers. The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is positively essential...it's the only thing that keeps my eyeshadow and eyeliner on all day. The Urban Decay Liquid Liner (which I have in sort of a shimmery olive green) is incredibly easy to put on and has just enough shine to be noticeable).

The best of all these, oddly enough, is the Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara. I'm not huge on grocery store cosmetics, since I'm a Sephora snob, but this stuff just blows all of my expensive mascaras out of the water. It's actually turning me into one of those people who can't leave the house without her mascara!

The great and fabulous people at Moo gave me a free set of photo business cards so that I could show you all the awesomeness you're missing by not having these. You just upload your images or logo and you get these sturdy, beautiful cards in a cute little box. I just grabbed twenty random images off of my computer and now I have these cute little cards to hand out...

We hit the driving range on Saturday with my family, which (unfortunately) was the most active thing I did all weekend. How many calories do you think a person burns smacking those little golf balls around? I hope it's millions...

Last Spring, Janean decided that since this was the last summer of our youth we all needed to send it out with a bang. Why was it the last summer of our youth? No idea. As far as most people seemed to be concerned, there were plenty of summers of youth to be had, while Kyle and I had pretty much given up our youth a couple of summers ago.

As the official Summer of Wonder has come to a close, I have to admit that the events we took part in were wonderful and I now think that a concerted effort to celebrate summer should be made every year. Until then, I simply have to post the Summer of Wonder poster that Janean cooked up. Nobody on the planet is more skilled than she.

Randy's high school has about a hundred cheerleaders and songleaders, literally, plus a drill team with about fifty members and a dance squad with about fifty members. At the homecoming game, while I was explaning the difference between cheerleaders, songleaders, pep, drill, and dance to Kyle, he just shook his head and said, "We had 12 cheerleaders and that was it and they danced and yelled and jumped around and that worked just fine for us."

We hit Riverton High School first thing this morning because my brother was in a Homecoming Pep Assembly, since he's nominated for Homecoming King (shocker). The whole school smells like tater tots and Axe body spray. Oh, for the days of togas and posterboard and trying to avoid the slow dances because your date is all sweaty...

Has anything ever been so precious? This is the new baby elephant at Hogle Zoo...just one of many baby animals, in fact! I have about a bazillion pictures more, but couldn't wait to show off her teeny tiny wrinkles and ear flaps!

When we moved, I collected all of the magazines that I hadn't gotten around to reading and was a little dismayed to realize that they've apparently procreated while I wasn't looking. This might be a sign that I need to cut back on the magazine subscriptions...Since I'm stubborn about not tossing unread magazines, even the bridals, I've been trying to figure out how to get them under control. So, I've started reading them, clipping the good parts, and organizing the clippings into themed journals. And so far, it's a little bit awesome.
